I thought the show was awful, I can only apologise to her if that's the best miming act we can come up with, utter rubbish.

Think I missed the miming, perhaps for the best. I thought Queen, The Queen, and Duran Duran were pretty good. “We will rock you” was written in the Silver Jubilee year!

Thought it was as a pretty good show really; wide choice of ‘celebrities’ for everyone and just good generally in these times of trouble we’re having. Lots said about how the royals are ‘not relevant’ or wanted by ‘many’ but I think this weekend shows that not to be true and what a fantastic benefit they are to ‘GB Ltd.’, and I don’t consider myself an ardent royalist by any means.

I think we need to remember, this is a woman who has devoted 70 years serving this country, she didn’t choose it, it was thrust upon her. If we didn’t have royals we would have presidents, and of course everyone loves/loved Putin, Macron, Trump, Armein to name but a few.
The royals (ok there’s a bad egg or two but what family doesn’t have them) have bought in billions for this country over the years (has anyone else in the world done as much?) if we can’t celebrate the longest ever servant of this country then what can we celebrate? Maybe Branson or Sugar or any of the other billionaires??Joined the BMWX5 45e group

The show seemed to lack atmosphere, crowd looked a bit bored - it felt like it needed more of a theme or thread to bring it all together. Rod Stewart murdering Sweet Caroline was unforgivable plus Celeste singing Wonderful world sounded like a record stuck on the wrong speed. I like Elbow but it wasn't a very celebratory vibe. Craig David was dressed like Jimmy Saville and still peddling his one-man-wedding-DJ show thing. The Lloyd-Webber bit was okay, you know what you're going to get.
Alicia Keys annoyed me by singing "Lonnnn-DEN" repeatedly. The diversity bit was a bit hard to keep up with but they'd clearly put some effort in.
Duran Duran were good especially with the visuals for Girls on Film, I pretty much gave up and went to bed after that D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Without making the post into a debate over wether we should keep Royalty or not, and I think we all know the pros and cons of that one, so it’s an individual point of view.
The Queen always had a choice to wether she accepted her position or indeed once accepted, continued with it.
We don’t have that choice.
Anyway, its not so much about the Queen as more to do about the future, particularly with regard to her successors. That would be the time for reform.
