As the title says, can anyone tell me the maximum charging current I can put through the 12S socket.
I've tried a search but can't pin down any info on this Bow down

Have you looked at why you need to charge so regularly?

I think it's probably the way it gets used. Long journeys (2hrs+) are infrequent - say once a fortnight, medium journeys (around 1hr) twice a week, short ones 3 times. The battery is a Bosch AGM about 15 months old. I have a (v cheap) voltmeter which shows great variations (12.3 to 14.7) and the FBH will trigger 'low battery - start engine' message even after 12hrs on charge. My indie can't find anything wrong. So I just charge regularly..... Embarassed Grateful any ideas, of course. Smile

Sounds like a Battery Monitoring System issue; quite common on the early D4s.

An indy with access to JLR support or a main dealer will be able to see if you have latest BCM revision installed. There were quite a few tech bulletins on this subject in the early days of the D4. You could check for a current drain yourself but presumably this has been looked for before.

Will book it into dealers next week but in the meantime....charged it up overnight, Ctek showing fully charged this am. Started fine and showed 14.7 (or near) all the time for 1 hour run. Started up to return home after 3.5 hr delay (nothing electric on and locked down at access height) - voltmeter showed 12.1 to 12.7 all the way home. Is that normal please?

That voltage is a bit too low. Your really should be seeing something higher from the alternator and the irksome BMS.
