Max power / torque for the 2.7 tdv6
According to adverts
A good ECU tune can get +50 bhp
A performance air filter +10 bhp
A performance exhaust +10 bhp
Premium fuel +10 bhp
All in all +80 bhp = 42% increase. a corresponding increase in torque gives 625 Nm. Can the engine / drive train take this ?
As an alternative to waiting for the 3.0 tdv6There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

Those figures are in isolation, combined you won't get all the improvements all of the time...
the drivetrain & powertrain are more than capable - same as used in the RRS SC

Not that LR would recognise this fact when trying to squirm out of a warranty claim if they found a modification of some sort Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

They do sound a bit optimistic don't they?
What would the real-world average figures be?....I would guess something like this:
A good ECU tune can get +50 bhp +40/45bhp
A performance air filter +10 bhp +3bhp
A performance exhaust +10 bhp +5bhp
Premium fuel +10 bhp +2bhp
I think combined you would be looking at 240bhp maximum....and I would bet a 2.7 TDV6 with a good remap alone would easily outpace the new 3.0 TDV6 when it arrives.
What do you guys think?2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

If the dealer mentioned it to Land Rover!
In my experience of modified vehicles, dealers are happy to pick up the often lucrative warranty work. Provided that the mods. are "sensible," I've never had a dealer query any warranty work.
My dealer knows about my remap & air filter on my D3, they know that these are "sensible" mods. well within the tolerances of the vehicle. They service it to schedule & I have no concerns about any warranty work being refused due to these mods.
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has been refused warranty work, based on the mods. mentioned in this thread.
Remeber that there are implications with the insurance as well. If you neglect to tell your insurance company they may refuse a claim if they find out.Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

Indeed, you must inform your insurance co. of any changes to standard specification.

Thanks.
I wish LR would put the tdv8 in. Stop me having evil thoughts about L200 / GL 400 etc. (need 6 seats otherwise an RRS, there again, if I got rid of SWMBO...........
I wouldnt be able to afford one because of the alimoney payments etc. )There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

A quick browse of the ZF website indicate the max torque limit for the 6HP26 gearbox is 600Nm.'06 Disco 3 TDV6 SE Buckingham Blue
