Catweasel,

See PM regarding paint.

Nobody wanted to know about the fallout so I ended up getting some detailers clay and after a few hours gentle work all the fall-out was gone. Whew!

are there any gaps in the tint at the edges and when you wind down the windows is there a gap at the top

No gaps as far as I can tell. And the good news is that both AM and FM reception seem to be not at all upset by the tint. I recently went north and had excellent AM reception up to Port Pirie on 1323 (which then tended to fade out) and usuable AM reception on 891 even further north.

Ian,
Good to hear you got rid of the fallout!

I had the 3M window film applied about 3-weeks ago ($295). No problems with AM or FM in Sydney.

Just had the paint protection and interior vinyl/leather protection done today - all up was $525. Not to differant to what you were quoted. I agree with you - you can't go to far wrong for that sort of investment.
The D3 scrubbed up quite well - after its "day spa".

I also had a plastic film applied to the front edge of the bonnet, the grill and painted areas of the front bumper bar (they also covered the headlights and foglights). This was an additional $295, and is supposed to protect the paint work from stone chips, etc.....well, only time will tell.

Baggy,
For the sake of clarity was the 3M tint you used metalised or carbon based? Are you able to indicate the product ID?

Thanks

Haggis,

It's carbon based film - 3M's Scotchtint Black.
I've PM'd supplier details.
