Mirrors and Drivers Seat Not Working. |
|
The powered mirrors and powered seat having given up on out '05 HSE. Any ideas? I've checked all relevant fuses in the fusebox behind the glovebox, they all appeared good. Thanks.

Seat now coming out. Would that explain mirrors not working though?

Are you removing the seat?? No need to do that, just check that the plugs are correctly seated and that there are no wires broken or chaffed.
The position of the power mirrors on "dip when reverse is selected" is controlled by the memory module under the seat, but I've no idea if the problem SPOTTER has mentioned could cause the mirrors to stop working completely....
It sounds possible though if you're seats have also stopped working 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Memory module sounds possible. Is the only way to check it to swap it for another unit?
Also, there appears to be a memory module relay. The handbook doesn't give any relay info. We're trying the memory hard re-set proceedure now.

Am I the only one to have suffered this problem? I'm not exactly being bombarded with possible causes here guys? Is the main stealer going to be my only savior?

Well...I bombarded you with one suggestion:

And you haven't mentioned if you've checked it out or not.... You've also ruled out one of the main causes yourself (fuses).....are you completely sure that they were all ok? 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Sorry. Thanks for your input. Yeah, we've checked everything under the seat, all looked fine. All the relevant fuses have been pulled out and checked 3 times now.

Here's the latest. Riders (LR Main Dealer) diagnosed a faulty memory module and ordered a replacement. It arrived, they plugged it in, nothing. They tried to re-cal it on the LR comp., nothing. They then tried to re-cal the old module again, nothing. They then sent a technical report to LR asking what to do next. I had a call today ( they've had the car since last Fri.) to say that LR have finally gotton back to them and they'll try to fit the car in tomorrow to carry out the advised procedure.

Fixed. Broken wire from ECU to Mem. module. 2hrs labour and a refund on the mem. module. Thanks for the input on this one. It's posted now, should anyone else suffer a similar problem. 8)
