Missing sidelights
Hi
Just got my 2013 D4 HSE LUX and noticed that the clear light at the bottom of the headlight were not working.
As far as I can tell I think it’s supposed to be the sidelights
I removed the headlight and unbolted the mounting bracket.
However when I removed the rubber cover there is no bulb or even wiring for one. There is just a silver plastic bit in its place.
Has anyone got any idea why this would be the case

If you have DRLs they dim to sidelights when you switch them on as far as I know but someone will be along sometime who has more info than me.

Could this been where the cornering lights would have gone if they were fitted to your car?I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Cornering lights go there if the car has them, they are small LEDs you have to look up from the bottom to see them from memory.
Sidelight is just a lower power of the DRL lights - Normal DRL is very bright, then when you select sidelight it dims the DRL and turns on the rear lights and then stays the same when you select the dipped or high beamMust stop buying shiny toys....

HSE LUX should have lights with all the bells and whistles: xenon, adaptive, cornering etc
Assuming this is a pre-facelift model as the facelift the cornering LED's lights are hard to spot (without any access either)

Good point, sorry was thinking the 13.5 model year with the newer style drls if it is the earlier one the cornering lights if fitted are different - do you have adaptive xenons? best to take a picture of the label on the top of the light unit and the front of the lightMust stop buying shiny toys....
