Does look more like a jackknife
It won’t let you raise the suspension when towing, which may make the air closer to the water. Mike

does look like drove in, obviously lower as not in off road height - at the end you see its still running and in reverse but the trailer has jack-knifed it.
I suspect went in a bit hot, would have been fine in off road height, trailer took a bit our then didnt help a few minor factors together and screwed when you have a water sail behind Mike

Thats basically what i was getting at - with a big sale on the back, doesnt take a lot to move the back end around, the moment that happens the front wont have enough authority to push the back and you have arrived at your problem
Remove the trailer and there would have been a chance to get out in reverse or get through potentially Mike

Don't know why you think it wont allow you to raise the suspension when towing, my D5 will raise suspension manually when towing a low speeds as did my D4s and D3
It will not raise automatically when you select certain terrain response modes but it can still be done manually. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I know, i use it to be lazy when hitching, but it isnt raising it as per off road height (if you look), you shouldnt do that when driving, hence it will level reasonably soon after start driving and it wont engage in terrain response, or terrain response auto. So no use in this situation...i tow a fair amount off road both the d4 and d5 when towing did the same with its air suspension Mike

That looks as if the trailer stopped him from being washed away completely. Or else the trailer was loaded wrong and the nose weight was so much that the front was light and that it why it was pushed sideways.

Saw that on FB earlier. It looked deliberate, from the fact that someone was on the bank filming it!
I reckon the trailer and D2 stayed on the bottom, and the front of the D5 floated away, the front getting pushed into deep water to the side of the crossing. Game over.
Best bet might be to get the D2 off the trailer and tow it all out backwards, but that would probably take too much time.

Sorry would disagree mine certainly rises manually when towing to full off road height, but only at low speeds and it that situation and speed should have risen to full off road height, had he known what to do and it started to float he should even have been able to get super extended mode MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
