Hi All can anyone shed some light on this one. Disco bought on a 56 plate registered 16/11/2006. It should have needed an MOT until November 2009. I bought it 23/10/2009. However the car had an MOT for some reason July 28th 2009. Do I need to have another MOT now seeing as it was MOT'd 4 months before it needed one?

I think you do. The expiry date will be on your current MOT.
You can get mot test done early, and the extended expiry date will be on the certificate.

Yes ou do as the current one will expire on the 27th June

I had the opposite.
Mine was registered in March 06, and therefore counts as the £200 mark tax.
Yet, the MOT was due on 23rd July - tomorrow. why 4 months out. Never been off the road (SOR) etc
When I bought it from the dealer he didnt know why
Had it done yesterday and it passed so not worrying about it. D4 HSE - Aintree Green

Maybe whoever had it before you forgot to MOT it?It does happen more than you think!
