Not I hope as I've removed my rear (and middle) seats temporarily.

8) cheers guys. Had to unfold the rears on the old TD5 in front of the tester, but I guess its cos they were easily seen, D3's are hidden under a pile of work rubbish.

Word of warning on the latest scam on dealer MOT's
CHECK ALL BULBS
They failed mine on no. plate bulb, and as they could not book it back in within the alloted time, charged me the re-test fee!
Had they mentioned it when they checked the bulbs at the start of the test, i could have had it sorted 30 secs later and long before they issued the failure notice
So basically, for the sake of 5 mins, save yourself the hassle and cost and check them before you get screwed I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Flew through, mind you it damn well should to be honest.
One thing he highlighted, and I already knew, was that the brakes are tosh. Nowt wrong with pads, or discs, but with the scales tipping nearly 3tonnes I would like them better.
So my next mod is gonna be a brake conversion to RRS Brembo's and discs. That'll do nicely

Good news about the MOT - so he didn't even check the 3rd row seatbelt mountings? I would have thought it would be part of the test/certificate?

Mac - did you/he actually press the pedal down during the test?
The D3 brakes are extremely capable and should never get comments like that from a MOT tester - they are very strong.
I agree that they often lack a bit of 'bite' at low speeds, especially if you have an auto-box, but the brakes are bloody good.
If the MOT tester bloke said that they were crap then you may actually have a problem somewhere... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

I don't think there is a problem, brakes were checked, and even the EPB module was replaced a month ago. They are in perfect condition, but have always thought they could be better.
Rear most seatbelts were checked too.

curious though; for one thing the D3 is rated as being able to tow an unbraked trailer up to 750kg, so 2.7t plus 750...
I have a winch plus tray plus FF roofrack, Mantec plate, RLD sills, boot load of crap, etc etc and have never noticed any issues with my brakes,
I'd get them checked or ask what commission the MOT tester is on...and theeeeennn......???

Remembering I am used to air brakes , once the discs do need changing I will convert to RRS brembo's. Should be easy enough

I seem to remember something at around launch time (2004) it was quoted that the D3 would stop from 70 in a shorter distance than a Porsche 911?

Undo the connector in the vauum line next to the booster. Tap the end on your hand. If there is oil thee you have a problem.
Take it to a dealer; they will fix even if out of warranty.
Oil contamination of the booster via the vacuum pump, causes for effort in braking to be needed.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
