Motorised side steps

Hi all, has anyone fitted the auto function side steps, found these for D3/4 RR SPORT personally I would really like a set as need steps but not keen on my factory ones. (And I think it’s cool 😎 😁)



 2015MY discovery 4 se tech with factory black pack.
With added
Rse, tv, electric memory seats, rear camera, heated steering wheel,
Headlight dip assist, remote FBH, led door light pack,easy lift kit,osram front fog/drl/active cornering lights. and whatever els I can find to do,

I think you would really really have to need them to make it worthwhile. They look very vulnerable to water and crud due to where they need to be fitted so unless they are extremely well made (and probably serviced/lubed etc yearly) id expect them to be very prone to seizing up.

But someone might say they are fine, and if you need them, then you need them etc.

The standard, fixed, steps are a lot more useful than the dainty deployable ones though - from keeping crud off the the sides of the car, making it near impossible for ordinary cars to ding your doors in car parks to being much more practical for roof loading and even giving somewhere for people to stand, while hanging on the roof rails, when giving them a lift out of large amounts of runny sheep poo (had to do that recently!! Laughing )

I tried a Velar with them, a useless feature to be honest. Fixed side steps are cheaper, do a better job and work without fail.
