Left my handbook at home today and was Just wondering, can you change the digital display in the settings menu to show Km/h from MPH ? Also interesting why LR don't show both on the main speedo as many others do ?

yes you can
cant remember exactly how, but its all quite self expanatory when you go through the settings menu
it also changes your mpg to L/100km etc Duncan

IIRC they don't need to display both MPH and KMH as they have an 'inner ring' on the speedo with KMH markers? There was some hoo ha with both Merc and MINI as they decided to have KMH on a digi read out in the dash-pack but this didn't show all the time and the legal Stasi got onto them. Think it was something about KMH alternative had to be visible at all times not just able to scroll through to it on one of the menus.
I had it 'switched off' on one of my Mercs by an Indy with a laptop as didn't want it to keep defaulting back to KMH display after a few seconds on the digi readout, wanted to see mpg, range, etc.
Think it's now just legal that you can select it as I've driven cars with MPH only speedos and KMH is selectable on a digi readout but doesn't have to show all the time

Yes it can, I use it all the time in Europe.
Go into the driver information menu by pressing OK on the steering wheel. Then you need the Trip Computer settings (where you choose A,B or Auto) and the bottom choice is Units. In here you can choose mph/mpg, mph/mpl or kph/kpl.
kph will give you a permanent digital speedo as you need.
(It even changes your cruise control readout as well!)

Leave the good lady at the shops and go on hols on your own... Could make the return after the hols kinda interesting!!!
As above, it's all in the main menu but you need the settings element to change the display - I tend to use the Tom Tom to show the mph speed as a cross reference and use the digital readout in kph.
Give me a ring if you struggle and give me a wave as you head through Europe.. WE are on our way back north next weekend So will probably be sat in traffic at some stage....
