Multi-height towbar side arm fitting trouble.

Trying to fit a Landrover, multi-height towbar, & am having trouble removing the bolts in rear chassis to fit the side arms of the towbar. Can anyone help please?

itz easy when you know how Wink

undo the inner bolt (ie the one on the inside of Chassis Rails). Remove bolt - offer up bar - you will then need to slacken off the two bolt on the outside of the chassis rails, a 9mm and a 17mm I think Question

re tighten the inner bolt and the then retighten the two outer bolts

Ireland

Have a look at This Thread & scroll down to post #10 where I tried to write up a guide how to get around this problem. (I’ll never make a teacher mind you Sad ) Might not be the most clear of instructions you’ll ever read, but it will give the idea.

Thumbs Up Job Done!

Bow down Thanks guys for all your help. Easy when you know how, & when you have the instructions!

Zebadee, your instructions were great - clear & concise. My wife reckons you would make a great teacher. Many thanks from one Irishman to another (I'm a Mayo man). Looking forward to taking our 3, back to Ireland for the first time, next Summer. Our old 97 300Tdi having faithfully made the trip many times over the past 8 years. Hope the new girl will prove just as faithful!
