Multiple driving bans...
Katie Price has rolled her car (BMW?). Well, it can happen.
But she's currently disqualified (and uninsured, of course). So that's a naughty then. And it's been suggested in some media outlets that she was drunk when she crashed. Double naughty!
She's been banned from driving 6 times in 10 years. 3 times for speeding offences, once for getting 12 points on her licence, once for failing to say who was driving, and once for driving whilst disqualified.
At what point does someone get some prison time for this sort of behaviour?Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Poor Katie is simply misunderstood, and any suggestion that she is not the victim here will be dealt with by her vociferous fan club in short order.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Should have been jailed before now tbh.
There’s no getting away from it, the alleged offences are serious and she keeps offending. I can see she’ll be asking the court to take account of Harvey, but that’s not an excuse nor a mitigation.
In my opinion, lock her up for 6 months or so and disqualify her for life.

I'm sure even the professionally outraged amongst us will struggle to defend her. If someone makes a mistake because life's got on top of them, then yes, help them etc. But if someone continually does these things over a long period of time and apparently without remorse or thought, then help needs to become preventative for everyone's sake.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

My concern is that drug & alcohol addiction are diseases and are not readily cured.
Prison, as far as I know, does not provide alcohol or drug rehabilitation. I wonder if the courts could issue a suspended sentence reliant upon her signing in at The Priory (https://www.priorygroup.com/addiction-treatment) for treatment - expensive but she or her family should be able to afford it.
She really shouldn't be permitted to drive again until she has passed an extended test, and tested clear of drugs & alcohol on half a dozen random dates & times in the six months before taking that extended test.

If 10 years of taking the out of the driving rules is drink/drug related, then you may have a point. If it's just "don't you know who I am?!!!" celeb ego, then not so much.
Either way, the courts need to do something to stop it happening again.
And not just with Price, but with all of those that drive whilst disqualified.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

In my opinion she should have been jailed before now......that appearance on Celebrity Masterchef was outright criminal.

She’s appeared in court, admitted disqualified driving, driving with no insurance and drink/drunk driving, she’d had alcohol and cocaine.
Sentence deferred until December, meanwhile interim disqualification - she’s already disqualified, and got to engage with the probation service and attend the Priory and not commit further offences.
Evidently she’s lonely and in the process of bankruptcy proceedings. She still has at least another pending driving whilst disqualified case being investigated.
None of that would matter is she hit and killed someone that mattered to us. Can’t help but feel she is being treated differently because of who she is.

Isn't the Priory a private setup? How is someone going through bankruptcy going to pay for that?Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Priory costs c. £5k a week - so she's looking at c. £20k for 28 days.
Presumably a friend, family, or more likely "the press" are paying.

Out of interest I wonder what the cost to the taxpayer would be to keep her in prison. Probably more expensive than the Priory I’m guessing.
ETA- I was way out. It’s nearer to £45k pa.
Although the overall cost to society for female prisoners can be much higher if social services have to look after children. As currently females still have more custody of children than males.

Last year, one year in prison cost £37.5k. Banging her up (sic) for 6 months is roughly the same cost as the Priory for 4 weeks.
