Thanks - are all of those wiring components within the mirror and housing, or does it involve digging into the door and it's looms? Cheers,

You don’t need to dig into the looms, you can just tape the wires to the existing loom. To put it simply, the interior mirror has an output at about 3v which isn’t used on the Disco 4 or RRS but is on the FFRR and the mirrors between all 3 are 99% identical (software and a spacer are different). All you do is take the 2 wires from the interior mirror and connect them to each mirror in parallel. How the wire get to the mirror is your choice. In the end I went for a new mirror -- so car is now back fully serviced and new MOT lets hope there are no more dramas during 2020 LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF
