MY13

Hi.

I am sure this has been covered before but struggling with search function at the moment. My issue as brain is fried.

I have finally worn down a colleague to buying a D4 - he has seen the light........

He is keen to get one in September this year. Will he get the new model changes by then? How does he find out the changes likely to happen?

TIA

Yes the new model will be available by Sept if last year is anything to go by.

I took delivery of a MY12 car on 1 October 2011, having seen the updated spec from sometime in late May, although it wasnt "official" till a bit later. Usually the dealer will know the updated spec by sometime in June. There are usually one or two posters on here who have the inside track and can get accurate information fairly early.

Just talked to my sales guide yesterday (I'm in the States) and currently one can only place orders for 2013 RR Sports and RR Evoques and nothing else for that model year. They are still taking orders for 2012 LR4's, but unknown for how long.

I guess that the 13MY must be delayed as in previous years, dealers have had the MY update info by now.

my dealer says they are done ordering any more LR4's for the 12MY and expect what's in the pipeline to cover them until November/December. They still have no idea when they'll be able to order anything beyond that. they don't think MY13 will be much different than MY12, based on the talk that the RRS refresh will be in MY14 and the shared chassis will drive that.

Yeah. The big change is to the LM, which is why there is no talk of 13MY yet. They were meant to be out of production by now, but due to demand they have continued to produce them. Which means they are building both 12MY and 13MY at the same time. Unfortunately this means they wont market the 13MY until they are happy with being able to sell the 12MY.

I think this is whats having implications for the T5 platform. Although its merely speculation.

There were certainly some very interesting T5 things going on when I was in Solihull back in mid-May..... Whistle

I still think the hybrid drive is coming sooner than we think, I hope I am correct.

If things go as before MY13 wouldn't start til after the summer shut down anyway?? Unless they skip the 13, keep making MY12s for another year as the marketing department might have decided that our colonial cousins think 13's unlucky. Whistle
