OK many thanks!

Debating a run round the route the week of the 13th - the midges are giving SWMBO pause for thought..

We are likely to pitch where it is windy as much as possible - if we make the run!
 D3 07 SE - still going strong
D3 07 HSE - gone to car heaven
FL1 - gone to Romania
D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten
RR Classic - gone to car heaven

Jeeps, Lexus, X-trails... Too many to name..

Me wash the car? Well it was washed at the service in early June, not convinced it needed it though as it still looked pretty good from the previous year’s wash. Whistle

Those horseflies were madly attracted to the car, I gave up doing stuff (brewing up, cooking, etc) on the tailgate but would park near a picnic bench. They didn’t bother me there. I also clocked them flying with me at up to 25 - 30mph so no way you can outrun them on foot. Shocked

The Corn Lice seem to be on the increase just now. Again annoying more than anything else.

The weather was shocking.
Broke camp and drove to Loch Rannock.
Peed down yet again, and got eaten alive by midges.
Ended up travelling to Pitlochry the next day. Sun 🌞 no midges
We did detour a lot from the NC500

The trouble is we have had very mild weather over the past year. A lot of insects survived the winter and we are reaping the benefits now.

It’s not only the midgies. I had to have the pest control people out for wasps yesterday, they got in under the slates on the roof, you could hear them moving about when you went into a bedroom, there are tons about. The guy was telling me he’s never been so busy, he had 18 bookings for the day!

Ticks aka Lymes disease are really something to watch out for. Again a lot more survived and they are prolific just now.

Just the weather for then now. No wind, light rain and warm! I was on the NC500 today and boy the traffic was unreal. Of note was about 15 plus Italian registered Camper vans in convoy, travelling counter clockwise. Deep joy if you come across them!
