New battery from Exide

Just installed this new brick after 3 years with the well known EA1000...

Hoping it will last a bit longer Rolling Eyes

Must confess never heard of an EFB batteries , assume that’s just a new improved model

EFB = Enhanced Flooded Battery. It has liquid electrolyte as per a standard battery but provides improved performance due to design/material changes.

NOT an AGM, These have been shown as not being quite the wonder battery the original hype claimed although most battery manufacturers still push them because they can charge more for them. AGM is not suitable as a direct replacement for flooded cell because the charging voltages are too high. Bulk charging for AGM is 13.7 volts but flooded requires 14.4 volts.

I still prefer batteries with removable caps, maintenance free is a bit of a misnomer. It's more a case of don't have to maintain so often and throw away instead.

Bless u for that as funny enough just started reading up about them

Use to have one of the older exide EA1000 and changed it to a yuasa 019 , considerably better that’s for sure and lasts nearly a month if I haven’t used the disco
