New Car Warranty
Hi
I noted whilst over in Dubai, that LandRover offer their customers 5 years / 150,000KM's warranty with a new car.
Any reason they get special treatment?
Just curious

Official answer will be "market conditions" I'd have thought. Same reason Discos are so much cheaper in the USofA, if they charged what they do in the UK they'd not sell many.
Or the flip side of the coin, peeps in the UK are quite happy to pay the big prices so no incentive for JLR to do anything but ride the gravy train. Customers in the US aren't going to stump up and Middle Eastern expect more from their warranty or they'll go elsewhere.

I think if they stood behind the product and extended the warranty they'd have a lot more sales?

Pretty certain some years back the Range Rover was offered with 5 years warranty.
It would seem that certain manufactures have extended 3-5 years warranty after having major recall issues, like Toyota to restore customer confidence.
I would think that longer warranties pay for themselves with tying customers in to main dealers and genuine parts.
See it highly unlikley that Landrover will extend warranty period, though agree it would be nice D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

I think it is more that manufacturers are dictated to by the UAE, same in other countries too. Believe all new cars are sold with warranty and servicing in the price paid.
