Well it’s been a long day deciding on whether to get a new Motorhome or change the caravan for a new one so we will be the proud owners of a new Adria Mississippi

Show time...... popped up to the NEC today and so busy.
The only conclusion that I came to is that I want a motorhome with a front and rear lounge and that some people feel so entitled..... a Mother stopped my Wife from fully looking into the toilet on a 120k motorhome (second visit to compare fittings) because her son (dangling legs spotted) was having a poo....... NEC's toilets were 30m behind the van. Thats going to be a surprise......

Haha, we also visited the NEC last week and now have a new coachman ‘van on order 😉
Noticed there were stickers on a lot of the toilets in the show vans saying “do not use”, and one of the salesman said it was usually kids that used them 😳

I’m getting caravan envy reading this.
Stephen46, I also bought a new coachman vip 575 and it was awful from day one. I thought when I bought it that it would see me out but it lasted only 18 months before I couldn’t take anymore.
Al, I bought mine from Raymond James, hope you haven’t, they were rubbish at after care.
I traded it for a swift elegance 650 which has been good so far and still suits our needs. I’m in the camp now that says if it’s dry and the layout suits then keep what you’ve got.
I’ve said I’ll never buy a uk caravan again but I’ve looked at Adria and really like them but my wife’s not so sure. They seem well built and solid. She says she’d miss the centre front drawers and particularly the pull out table, we never use the free standing table in the van. Also the shower areas weren’t fully lined and we use ours all the time. However, when I’ve asked at past shows the salesmen have always reassured that they have no problems with the wall boards.
Good luck with yours.
Al, I might be following you with an xc90 next, although I’m going to test drive the new 3.3 litre Mazda cx60, if only to acknowledge how brave Mazda are in bringing out a new diesel engine in the current climate. Currently 2015 D4 SE Tech, Corris Grey

Not from Raymond James no. It seems a lot of caravan dealers aren’t much different to a car dealers, so whilst I buy from one or other, I use a service center who only service and do our warranty work, so they aren’t trying to sell us something when I go there.
Had my XC90 for a year now and well pleased, and it’s had its first service and the dealer service was a much nicer experience than LR

The Volvo would feel quite a bit different from your D4, more “car” like to drive, but I had already gone from D4 to D5 before the Volvo, so the difference in drive feel wasn’t that much. A couple of pluses are the Volvo’s much more economical, being in the mid/high 30’s knocking around town, and mid 40’s on a run, and it’s quick 😉👍
There’s more leg room ( front and back) and the load area is longer (front to back) although nowhere near as high (tall)

I thought my XC90 was great car that did 90% of what the D4 did. As for the Volvo dealer, the service was exceptional.

I am not saying that the Volvo is a bad car but it’s a car and after sitting so high for so many years it was a pleasure to get back in my D4,
