New D4 in abu Dhabi
I just got my new D4 in Abu Dhabi yesterday;
Full house Orkney Grey v8 HSE, very handsome, will post some pics soon.
A funny thing happened; There was a bit of a delay in getting the plates fitted at the dealer, when I went to take delivery, so I left my wife at the dealers to actually take the new D4 home, as I was late for a meeting.
Next thing, the salesman spends about an hour explaining all the features to her, which she never even knew existed. So by the time I got home in the evening, she was quite enthused to tell me all about this and that new feature, and how it all works.
Sadly (for me), she seems to much prefer it over our trusty v6 HSE D3 so I may not be spending that much time behind the wheel. On the plus side, at least I won't hear any nagging about how we didn't need a new car.
I kept my D3, (sold the Cayenne to get the D4), so now have both. Don't allow an inanimate object to outwit you.

Maiden voyage off road yesterday. Frankly I am blown away by the performance of the LR4 off road. With oodles of torque from the big V8, and everything so nicely sorted - suspension, brakes, electronic traction control which is so non-intrusive.
I'm lucky enough to have the electronic diff-lock, which kicks in right when you need that little extra, and voila!

I like the suction to rear window for the flag, neat idea and taken off when not in use.
need one of them when I park up in shopping centre carpark as I always forget where I parked my car... Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

Thanks for the comments, all good fun.
LR4 warranty in UAE is 5 years - dealer is pretty good about fixing stuff under warranty if possible. My LR3 had a number of batteries replaced as well as repairs to the a/c compressor, under warranty.
Fortunately, SWMBO lets me drive on weekends, especially in the desert! Frankly I worry more about her getting dents and scratches at the shopping centre than I will in the desert, so we are about even there.
I've been driving my LR3 as the daily commuter to work, and frankly I still enjoy the 4.0l v6 for every day.
The v8 5.0l comes into its own on weekends when you are using it as a tow car or loaded up to go camping, etc. She just eats up those miles on and off road without ever breaking a sweat. It just feels surreal to be in a Disco with so much power and capable of some serious and sustainable speed when you give it a bit of wellie.Don't allow an inanimate object to outwit you.
