I think it has to do with dealership allocation, each dealership are allowed so many D4's a month, if they are selling a lot it means that you will have to wait longer for your order. The salesman I deal with told me that they had sold more D4's recently than ever before and had been given extra allocation from the factory but they are selling more than that allocation so there is still a long waiting list.
Last time I was in the dealership I was chatting with two lads who had flown up from London to pick their new Range Rover up, they said they had bought it because they got a better deal here than they could in London When I mentioned this to the salesman he said that they sold quite a lot of vehicles to people from London and the surrounding areas because of the discounts they can offer. So you see why we have long waiting lists, it's those damn southerners coming up here and buying our D4's Cheers Ian
