I thought it referred to year the vehicle was manufactured in. My vehicle was first registered in Feb 2005 on a 54 plate and the chassis number is 05A.
It sounds silly now but I thought 'wow, they didn't hang around - the vehicle was built and sold within the first 2 months of 2005'.
Thanks for explaining DD
Cheers,
Darren

Good news, the dealer called today to confirm that the build slot is this Thursday and they're hopeful of a 1st September hand over, at midnight which would be rather exciting

Historically, Land Rover, after the annual Summer break in August, set up for the next years model. So in September this year, maybe October, the 2014 model should be available.
Ah, this MY14 business was confusing me also. So the car I collect on 1st September will be a 13 car? Are there many differences and why MY?
Thanks (sorry, newby to the LR world!)

Con grats you guys. I've just been playing in a D4 at Luton LrE off road. It's an awesome car on and off road. Make sure you ask for your off road vouchers guys. And if you can't fill you car I could make myself available haha. Enjoy

Congrats Dexter!
It'd be great if you could post some pics of the new colour (and ebony). I just can't make up my mind between Corris and Causeway...
