It looks to have been in this pic:

Hell good spot Ian Thumbs Up Yes it went in to have the door painted when we returned off this holiday. It was part of the deal that it would be resprayed when I had time after the holiday to put it in the paint shop. I wish I had paid extra and had the bonnet done now Big Cry

Hi All,

Halfway through my disco 3 HSE restoration. Done a lot of mechanical, suspension, electrical work. Still got to do a gearbox flush and give it a service next week ready for its MOT. What do you think of the look so far? Still got the Snorkel, Front bonnet snow screen etc to do.

Looking good. But I'd turn the tyres round to get rid of the white writing. And if you're going to take it off road, ditch the side steps.
I like the colour and you've done a great job on the plastics Thumbs Up

Agree ditch the white lettering, fit decent rock sliders and don't fit the snorkel. You'll never need it and I think they look daft.

Looking good though Thumbs Up

I agree with the ebony black steering wheel and dash.

I have recently installed the same steering wheel and feels much better than the standard steering wheel because they get sticky and even after doing a refurb only last a year.

Good quality steering wheels!!

I disagree with Simon on the snorkel I think its a matter of taste although I admit they are not needed. I have to say they are noisy Censored on the motorway so take that into consideration if you want one. Also if you decide you do not like it you will need a new wing when you remove it. Big Cry On mine the rack is as noisy as the snorkel so it don't really matter Laughing Enjoy your D3 fella Thumbs Up

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the mixed input. I am building my dream disco so if some of you don't mind i will continue with my dream. The foot steps are coming off and being replaced with rock crawlers. i also have rear and front light protection to fit. Also intend to fit underneath protection as well as the snorkel. Why? because this disco 3 is going off road.

Keep the input coming guys. very interested in what everyone has to say. By the way the 5 HSE alloys i just took off are up for sale. Pictures below and on my other post.

going to replace them with rock crawlers. when your off road the side steps can get ripped off or caught on over hanging rocks. they are pretty good condition. will put them up for sale when i get to that stage.

excuse my ignorance but what are rock crawlers? I bought my D3 only a couple of weeks ago and the 1st thing I done was to fit the side steps. I can see what you mean if you go offroad they would easily get ripped off - mine won't be doing that now I know !

Rock crawlers are steel bars instead of the boards/planks he has fitted now.

Actually they are named rock sliders as the intention is once you get on a ridge these bars help you to slide over... Very Happy
