Its arrived
Very pleased we went with Grand Black Gloss trim with the Almond and very pleased with the external colour - a common choice I know but it looks classy IMHO
Not really driven yet - roll on the weekend when I can also fit the hatchbag, cargo divider etc etc.
Have also invested in replacement wheel nuts to swap out the locking version asap.
Now just need to plan the time for paintwork detailing - its big isnt it
keeping the Disco....
Just ordered a Jag XK......straight 5.0 litreBREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

swan neck tow hitch
Towing an twin axle 650-6 Avondale (8m shipping) travels fine on a swan neck. Used around a 10-12 per year and never had an issue even with 7 on board & the kitchen sink.
Suspension height changes on the D3 make it so much easier to hook up & un hitch than with a D2- Great.

Just to elaborate on Lewis 7's post:
Even though he seems to be talking about a D3, the D4 is equally capable of towing (if not better).
In Oz, we have a different hitch arrangement to that in the UK. The tow hitch height has now been changed with the D4 (and, I believe, this hitch is retrofittable to the D3). I don't know if the towball height has changed between UK D3s & D4s.
Best Wishes,

Thanks for the tips on towing guys'.
Its taken a while to get around to posting pictures of the new car - blame it on this little chap (a new addition to the family) who took priority at the weekend.

His pack leader also seemed to like it

Some of the car (after a bit of detailing- its a big vehicle isn't it ) The paintwork is a credit to the factory - much better than on recent BMW's I have owned and on a par with the 911 we sold (no room for the dogs )
rtune - I do occasionally drop in on DW - might put some more of the photos I took during the process over there. For now I have just put up the 'after shots' as it did not need very much correction at all.

I should also say a big thanks to TLO for the Dog Guard, Cargo Bay Divider (yet to be fitted) and the Rubber Mats (also yet to put into action). I'm pleased with the Hatchbag which looks like its going to do what its supposed to when the weather gets wetter - hopefully not for a long time yet.

Added the side steps today that were acquired earlier from the bulk buy. I had a little problem with one of the brackets fitting too snuggly so it took longer than anticipated but eventually over came that. Fitting the second one is a lot quicker once you have done one side. Thanks again Slimer
