Do you think I could temporarily Scotchlok a wire from behind the multi plug at the heater end, the just before the connector at the pump end, just to check functionality??

Yes, should be a good idea
Try to see if a wire of the pump connector goes to ground:
- if yes try a new wire from the Webasto (pin 5) to the pump
- if not, try with a new ground wire
C0920 is your connector

Blue/White wire at the pump end doesn't go to ground. But the ground doesn't go to ground either!

pin 1 is GROUND (black cable?), 2 is pulsed +12V from WEBASTODiscovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

Yes, but there's no continuity between the black wire/connector at the pump end and the chassis rail

Ok, so it seems the problem is on the ground wire......Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

So to summarise, at the pump end, if there’s no continuity for either the earth or the positive, then either the cables are severed or unplugged somewhere between the pump and the heater?

Connector C2373 on the same compartment of the engine bay fuses box
Here the correct pics for C2373-C2374 and C0920 (RHD) but in Italian

Post modified again (wrong C3001 pic, now correct for the Diesel)
Some pics are taken from D4 Electrical library because I'm not able to look for a complete Discovery 3 Electrical Reference Library, but following both electrical diagram (D3 and D4) the "name" of the connectors are the same.......Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

I'm a little confused as per this post https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic70824.html suggests that there is a break in the harness somewhere under the right side of the car under near the footwell. I don't see that on the diagrams you sent.
I am not 100% sure but I think what your seeing on the black wire might be correct, I am sure I read somewhere that the fbh is a pulsed feed and that it is switched from the main ecu through the earth wire to make it run.
So unless its seeing a demand to run that wire will have no continuity .

Well I've ordered myself some piercing multimeter probes to check the continuity of the blue/white feed from the connector at the FBH end through to the pump end. There must be a break somewhere either at a loom connector or a chaffed wire somewhere else.
