A new, first time Discovery owner!
My bank account is £1,000 lighter tonight as I have put a deposit down on a new Discovery Graphite. This is my first Discovery or Land Rover of any sort. Our plan is to run it for many years as our 3 boys go through their teenage years. Delivery estimate is mid to late May.
Spec is the Graphite with privacy glass, towbar, electric seats, 5 year service plan and body care. Add in some rubber mats and that lot will cost me about £46.5k. Not a bad discount on a car that lists at £47.5k for the base model.
The only question, which I have to answer by Friday, is the colour. Options are Corris Grey, Loire Blue or Santorini Black. We like the blue but aren't quite sure it is a Land Rover colour (but then what do we know as first timers). We like the black but it might look a bit gangster and be a mud magnet. We like the Corris Grey but worry it might age badly. Tough decision to have to make, but I think we'll cope!
BTW, I am new here and the friendly welcome, advice, replies and comments I have seen have ensured I'll be sticking around as I get used to my new machine.
Come on May, I can't wait!
PD

Welcome to the insanity that is Disco ownership. If it was me I'd be choosing Corris Grey.
But feel free to ignore my sage advice, I drive a 10 year old D3.
Black looks great when it's clean, scratches etc show easily.
I'm biased with my Baltic Blue whilst SWMBO has (until Thu) a Stornoway Grey D4, this is being replaced by a Corris Graphite, i'm with Del on this & add my vote to Corris - it just suits the car.Paul.

Mine should have come off the production line last Friday, as mentioned before remember the steering wheel.
I went for black rather than grey for two reasons, my last D4 was grey and too much the same, the other reason, I saw a grey one in the local dealers and with the dark wheels it was just too much, didn't look right to me. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Silver! Don't forget the heated steering wheel, best option out there! Especially if you are keeping it a few years!
I'm probably being dim, but why is the heated steering wheel the best option if I'm keeping the car for a few years?MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue

Very fair question. What is it with heating steering wheels?! It's probably the single most useless extra that I've ever had on any Land Rover! I still wouldn't tick the box if it were free
PS: Loire blue for me! Blue is a perfectly acceptable traditional Land Rover colour

It's brilliant on cold winters mornings, well worth £180 any day. I only ever had one on a curtesy RRS autobiography, but it was great and did miss it.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

With the rear lights having a black background, I'm not sure how it would look on a blue car, similar but maybe a bit odd.Joined the BMWX5 45e group
