Between 2 and 4 months in UK depending on Dealer and how many their are allocated.
Local Dealer was quoting March/April delivery for orders placed in December.

My D4 is due for change in September @ 3 years old. As much as I appreciate how good my current car is, I don't think I could bring myself to order a D4 run out edition earlier given the D5's imminent launch. If the D5 ticks the boxes for me (size, features, towing capability, price) then I'll consider it as a replacement, it will undoubtedly be a great vehicle in it's own right.

Dex I think you will find that by the time you know if the next Discovery is suitable for you or not it will be too late to get a new current Discovery.
Just to add to the confusion. Maybe they will continue the current Discovery along side the Sport and the new shape.
Just saw this when looking at our new Discovery.
I think they may continue the comercial version until the new defender is out.
I suppose it's not beyond the realms of possibility that this new vehicle is not the outright replacement for the D4, and that the existing shape will run alongside until the "Defender replacement" comes out, which perhaps, in truth, LR intend as the D4's partial replacement also. It's certainly a potential scenario.Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

The Discovery is Dead, Long live the Discovery..... most people on this forum will probably hate the Discovery 5. It will be radically different form the current model - something of a blend between the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Sport. A far cry from the utilitarian vehicle you know all love. I’ve always been fascinated by good design and particularly, what it is that adds that magic element that makes something desirable, sometimes despite it’s obvious faults! The D3, and to a lesser extent the D4, are great examples of this.
I know several people who agree that the D4 is in almost every way a better vehicle than the D3. Engine, gearbox, interior refinement etc., are all improved on the D4, and yet there’s something missing… that indefinable element which many call the ‘permagrin’. I’m not unhappy with my D4, I love it… there’s just a purity of design that’s been diluted or smudged with bling. Almost as if we can tell it’s not looking the way the original designer intended?
So the D5 is the next chance to start again with a clean sheet of paper… make something exciting that we all want to own simply because it looks good and stirs the spirits. I’m not certain anything that looks like a large DS can be anything other than boring?
I’m sure I’ll end up getting one, I need the space and it’ll probably be good at what it does, but will every journey be an adventure, will it give us a permagrin? What makes driving a Disco different from driving an XC90, X5, Merc, Toyota or whatever? If the D5 hasn’t got that then we’ll be bored!
Which is why we’re hoping they’ll keep the old girl going a little longer!

Personally I would rather stick with the brand, I would rather take a D5 than the XC90, though a good car, I prefer to have some substance behind the bling.
I believe the D5 will do everything the current car does, there maybe slight compromises, but will suit most owners needs. Being based on the same chassis as the RR/RRS, it should be a better drive. The one thing I liked on my DS was they way it drove.
My only gripe is price.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

There was a popular commercial version of the FL2, but no commercial version of the FL3/Disco Sport has been forthcoming. Since the parallels in styling and market "repositioning" between the FL2 & FL3/DS and the D4 & D5 are so stunningly similar, I'd be shocked if LR were to provide the D5 as a commercial.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
