MY new MY15 Commercial
Had her 5 weeks now and not had chance to post anything!
Essentially however I love it! A lot of things are refined from my 2005 Disco 3 which left last Saturday.
Only think I'm slightly grumpy about which is far from the cars fault is that I bought a cancelled order, I did have one on order from my local stealers with a delivery date of late March! The one I had ordered had heated seats and vision assist pack... My old one had full adaptive xenons.... My new one doesn't, I took the old one out for a spin the night before it was collected and the lights are a different thing altogether! I'm probably going to start saving fro xenons for the new one!
The new one does have the most insanely expensive alloys on it which I didn't pay for
3000 miles later and the grin is set in place very firmly. Just need to order some forum stickers!

Before you shell out megabucks for Xenons, try a set of Nightbreakers in the halogen projectors first. Mine are perfectly adequate with these.

Hi Will,
I agree about the headlights.
I took delivery of a new commercial in Dec with with the standard 'poverty model' halogen head lights and they are crap. Instead of two H7's ( 1x dip, 1X main) they now fit one H1R2-9012 single filiament bulb to do both jobs.
Landrover should be ashamed of themselves because, quite frankly, they are totally inferior to the headlights fitted to the previous D3 2007 and D4 2011 Commercials I have had. I saw no need to pay the rip off price to upgrade to xenons as the standard halogens were great. I expected the output of the revised lights to be at least as good if not better on the 2015 model, instead they are more akin to a 30 year old Defender!
I have inquired about upgraded bulbs but have been advised that none are available yet. Does any body know any differant?
The car is so unpleasant to drive at night I am starting to hate it, and that's before I have ago about the 'intelligent' stop/start feature!

Mike,
I'm glad you agree, I was worried it was only me
I have managed to pick up some Xenon units but the CCF needs updating and no one seems to be able to do it yet... Give it a few weeks and Pete at BAS thinks he will be in
The halogens are a joke, this evening in places I was genuinely scared! My Series 2A is on par with the disco!!26 and on the 4th LR..

Hi Will,
Sounds encouraging, would appreciate it if you could let me (and all the others who are now too terrified to go out in their new £40k+ Discovery's after dark) if you have a successful outcome.
Cheers
Mike.

The bulbs have changed from standard H7s to weird and wonderful Philips HIR2s - a design that costs three times more to buy the bulbs and doesn't yet have any other mainstream vendors other than Philips.

Thanks for that PJB,
Makes me feel soooooooo happy to know that at least one of us can see where they are going.
Have you practised your smug look for when you meet the less fortunate among us?

I'm liking the sign writing. I'm trying to decide if I should get it done yet. Plus im currently changing the company name so it may as well wait until after that.
Earlier a c4 was following me with regular lamps and his lights were lighting up more of the road than mine!26 and on the 4th LR..
