New production line?

Having done a couple of factory tours in the part, and seen the fabulous production line that makes not only the Disco but the Range Rover and Sport too. Is the D5 going to have a new line? Or is the current T5 line suitable?

Certainly warrants another factory visit!

If it's being built at Solihull then my understanding is that once the last factory is set up for Disco 5 it will run on same lines as F-Pace, RRS2 and XE. So you get a mix of the 4 running along the line on the same shift.

Rolling with laughter Now there's a thought what fun if we could play with the software programming and create a cross-breed JLR product.

Did the Solihull Tour recently and was amazed by the technology and robots. If I remember correctly the set up allows up to six different vehicles to be built but the six can be run through in any order. So 3 F-Paces, 1 RRS, 1 XE, 6 RRS could go through if that is the sequence orders are pulled through in.

yes it will definitely run on the same line, the trim line anyway, the most they will change is some jigs and robots in the bodyshop. We start to get the dies in for the panels soon as a lot are made in Halewood.
