New rear Meyle discs rusting

Hi all, looking for some advice please

End of November '22 I fitted new meyle premium brake discs and pads to all four corners, since then I've covered less than 1,000 miles and the rear discs are already showing signs of rust as per the photos, the fronts are no problem, I got them from autofactors who have been very helpful and emailed meyle, but I was wondering if anyone else had used meyle discs and what they thought?

They're not the cheapest and I paid more to avoid the eventual rust

Never worried about it. The hub will eventually rust as well.

I expect the rust......eventually.....but not so soon for such high quality discs and the front ones are spot on with no rust, hoping someone else has the experience of meyle discs Very Happy

I normally paint my discs when they are new before fitting. I concentrate on getting the edge and the bell covered. It slows the rust for a while, but not permanently.

I assume you’re talking about some rust on the coated hub part? All discs will rust where the pads wear the metal - it’s usually visible within a few hours of washing the car, and will disappear with a couple of hard stops from motorway speed.

No, its not on the brake pad/ friction service, it's on the disc outer edge of the disc as well as the inner hub nearest the vent holes.

The hubs themselves are fine and the meyle front discs fitted at the same time have no sign of rust at all. It's almost like the disc coating on the rear discs haven't been as coated as well as the front have?

Seems to be a lot of marks on the braking surface of the disc - maybe its just the photo though?

I would be more concerned how they are scoured, almost look like they are overheating!
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
