New tyre on TPMS wheel
I've never had a car with TPMS before so the question's never come up.
I'm having a new tyre fitted tomorrow, do I/they need to do anything special? One of the options on the fitting was for a replacement TPMS but presumably they don't fit a new TPMS valve every time they change the tyre do they?

No, the valve part can be fitted separately if needed but they are not a universal fit and not all tyre suppliers carry them, in other words supply your own, for this reason I always carry a spare along with an emergency plug type puncture repair kit. It can when others can't,

Just let them know you have internal TPMS & they are more careful changing tyres. Replace battery while at it. I have ARB external sensors which is simpler with 2 spare wheels.
I recently replaced all the batteries as I was getting a few errors. They all work perfectly again.
TPMS has now saved us avoiding 4 destroyed tyres in the remote Australian outback. We learnt after the first one!
We plug our own tyres & have 3 ARB compressors in parallel, air tank, after cooler & moisture trap.
Refrigeratored consensus if necessary.
Moisture inflating one tyre on a humid day.
With custom heatsinks, also internally.
Third compressor & 4L air tank.
The volume of air we can inflate a 255/60r18 tyre from 20 to 35psi in 28 seconds. Ironically it takes 60 seconds to deflate 35 to 20psi.
Water cleaning with air compressors.
