New VED rules
What is the situation on buying new or pre-registered cars. I understood we were talking an on the road price which clearly would have included VED. However reading between the lines as "the dealer is going to 'assist me' in taxing the vehicle" that they are expecting me to pay the VED??.

As i understand it the main thing affecting LR buyers is anything costing over £40K will pay £450 a year (£310 supplement + £140 flat rate) for the first five years and they revert to the £140 flat rate.

Might be the best course of action is to just ask them. It's all in how you phrase the question, like "first years tax is included in this deal, isn't it".

Yes you are correct, your thread title 'New VED Rules' led me to believe you wanted info on the changes after April 2017, sorry.
