I had the same last week
Chat Transcript wrote:info: Welcome to the Frizzell Live Chat service.
info: You are now chatting with Simona
Simona: Hello, you are through to Simona, please can I take your full name and postcode.
Visitor: Hi, Simon xxxxxxx
Simona: Thank you Simon, how can I help you today?
Visitor: I'm trying to work out if your insurance will cover me for driving off road. I don't mean in any sort of event
Simona: no we don't sorry.
Visitor: okay, thanks, strange though as I know of someone that's insured with you that has been told they are covered
Simona: we no longer do that, we used to.
Visitor: Ah, okay, can you recommend anyone that does?
Simona: unfortunately not, it might be worth trying a broker, they will be able to advise you.
Visitor: Will do. Thanks
Visitor: Bye
After the horrendous quote I had from NFU I decided to bit the bullet and renew with LRI (issues I had with them are now resolved) so gave them a call and after a quick recalc they got another £65 off my premium (now £210 less than the NFU quote) Apparently they've just introduced new groups or something and if I'd phoned up a week earlier it wouldn't have been any cheaper The End

In that case I think I'll give them another call tomorrow and get them to double check - if they don't LRI here I come LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Just got off the phone from LV/Frizzell (and had it confirmed by another forum member, who used to work for them), apparently because we have a "old" policy which was taken out pre-2006 this includes Off-Road cover, but any new policies with LV/Frizzell do not include Off-Road cover - sorry giving out duff information previously
That said, we just got a quote from NFU and even having disclosed all the accessories and TorqTune, it was a bit cheaper for the same cover, so I've gone with them for peace of mind with regards to the off-road use. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Not from LV or NFU (but NFU did say that's standard considering their main customer base is farmers). LV were able to dig out the details of my first enquiry about off-road cover from 2 years ago when I asked whether I was covered, so it proves the do keep record of what was said. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Mine is £377 with Adrian Flux, for business use and with no claims protection and off road. Wife is 33 and I am 38.
Apparently we live in a low rated postcode.
