No power to F3 fuse & suspension failure. |
|
2005 D3
Always had an intermittent suspension fault, but it’s never bothered me as I’ve always just used it in normal height.
Yesterday after driving for 2 mins, all the suspension dropped while stationary (car running). Manage to limp it home. Very very bouncy. I managed to get the rear suspension up to normal height again, but from suspension isn’t playing. It’s still low and thus being bouncy on the front. When I first start the car there’s no warning. I’m able to select what height, but when the car tries to go to that height, the warning comes on and nothing happens. I can hear the motor trying.
I thought I’d test the fuses.
All are good except the F3 fuse. The actual fuse is fine, and I’ve tried another 5amp just in case. But there’s no voltage reading going to the fuse or when I’ve actually removed the fuse and tested. I’ve tried when the vehicle is off, ignition on; even the engine running with a few revs. Still absolutely nothing. Most is 1. Every other fuse in the box is absolutely fine and all are getting power. Except this one. Any ideas.
Sorry for the long post.

Fuse 3 will only be +12v when the compressor is running.
I think you need to read the fault codes to give you a clue as to the problem.
Have you tried using the key to get the suspension back up / work out what seams to be the issue?

You were 100% correct. My mechanic plugged it in & it read faulty compressor! Ordered a new one and he’s fitting it on Thursday. Not the cheapest of problems, but also not the most expensive so I’m happy with that. Thank you 😊
