No power, any ideas?
Annoying fault on my 09 D3. 125k miles, new engine fitted at 100k.
No power below about 2000rpm and takes an age to get there.
There was an EGR fault that said something along the lines of insufficient flow but it didn’t identify a particular EGR as being at fault. Diagnostics suggested EGR valves were working ok.
In the garage at the moment-mechanic has tried changing the butterfly valve but that didn’t solve the problem.
Runs fine when revving which makes me think it’s not the turbo actuator.
Anyone have any suggestions on where to look next?
Thanks

You may want to check to see if the EGR's are blanked. If they are, this would explain the insufficient flow.
If not, you could try blanking them temporarily. as it's a cheap measure and it would rule out leaking EGRs
I understand a 2p coin can be used. or I used metal from a beer can.
With that ruled out, I would be inspecting the turbo rod linkage to see if its free

Many thanks, it has now thrown an EGR b fault which hopefully identifies the EGR that’s playing up-cheers for your reply and advice

Hi Bobby, I was having the same issue, got to the point where I had the eml on and it barely dragged itself off the drive at startup. Codes showing egr fault. I dropped some egr cleaner through the air intakes and added a fuel additive and it cleared it right up, guessing that the egr was full of soot but it was loose enough for the cleaner to flush most of it out. The £10-£15 may be worth a go before getting your egr replaced?2008 HSE Stornoway Grey
