No sound from front speakers.

Big Cry hope someone out there can help me.
I recently obtained a 2007 Disco 3 XS and have been working my way through the list niggles that it came with.
One however has me beat. There is NO sound from the front door speakers.
When the sat nav is in use the sound from the rear speakers reduces when the sat nav would be talking and if I make or receive a call I cannot hear the caller. I was able to connect my phone via Bluetooth.
There is a miniature multi pin socket attached to the underside of the centre console lid.
What am I missing??

the name of the device on my phone is land rover and it required the land rover code to connect. Also, the car has the phone buttons on the steering wheel so i presume it is not an after market part.

What display do you mean is colour?
The display for the radio is green, the sat nav is colour.

Do you know what the connections are for under the centre console lid?

Connections under centre console lid are for a Nokia cradle and old Nokia phone.
A search will tell you which model phones fit the cradle but I recall the cradle was a Nokia CR-3.

Regarding your sound issue, sounds like a plug has come adrift.

Try doing a hard reset. May help. May not but it takes 2 mins and resets the car. We had a lot of head unit faults and this was the only way to resolve it. But after swapping out the head unit all was well.

your XS is high spec'ed

Have a look under the drivers seat (from the back) and see if there is an amplifier.

IF there are a load of green wires, they goto the speakers.

Otherwise the green wires will be behind the headunit

i had a look under the drivers seat and there is an amp with green and white wires from it.
According to the wiring diagram the wires for the front door speakers are not there.
I an totally lost now. Are the frond door speakers wired to something other than the amp?

are you looking at the right section of the wiring diagram?

THere are 3 spec levels.

Basic. (speakers from head unit)
HK amplifer under seat
HK logic 7 as above but more speakers and silver AMP

Things are looking up.I removed and re-seated the fibre optic cable going in to the logic 7 amp under the drivers seat and the front passenger door speaker sprang into life. However, the drivers door was still silent.
I removed the door card and checked the speaker connection and it too started working. So now i have to find out why when i make a call i do not hear the phone ringing or the voice of the person answering it.
Also, when the sat nav is on there is still no voice. The car has voice command but i dont know if that too should be heard through the speakers.
The volume drops when the sat nav is giving instructions so some of it is working.
Ant ideas?????

this maybe worth ago;

When in phone mode, try turning the volume knob upto 10 to see if that helps.

I did manage to mute silence my satnav. When she is giving instructions, you need to quickly turn the volume knob up. I know this isn't easy!

There is a repeat instruction button on the screen though

Hi Pete,
i tried increasing the volume when the sat nav was on but to no avail.
i have no idea where to look next.
Could it be something to do with the phone connection unit located in the lid of the cubby?

try harder!

It won't be the lid.
I would be surprised if it was electrical.

Get the radio on with a high volumn. (so you know when the rear fades out its trying to speak)

set the nav to goto a destination.
start moving up the road a little.
press the repeat command screen button
increase radio volumn quickly

or better still, read owner manual
