NOCO Genius boost and AGM Batteries

Anyone know if portable battery jump starters such as the NOCO GENIUS are able to be used on AGM batteries as looking to purchase something to keep in the boot to use in an emergency. I quite often tow a horse trailer to remote areas where there is no mobile signal and wanted one to have one just in case on returning to the car to find battery flat and no one around to help and no one to call.

I understood that AGM batteries are still of the lead acid type, therefore yes you should be able to use a NOCO jump starter. I have a fully charged NOCO GB40 in the boot, just haven't needed it yet.

I have one permanently (whilst engine on) on charge in the load space and have used it on various vehicles inc LR and RR but my version is a little weak. Not too bad if the battery is just a little low but if completely flat then you need the big version big money to buy though if you go large.

Not noticed any problems using it on both of my previous AGM batts Thumbs Up

I did try out a NOCO 40 and not upto the job it was useless on the 3.0l diesels, brother had one for his 2.2l diesel and it struggled on occasions in the winter with his, so looking to purchase the 70 which is double the amperage of the 40 so should be upto the job. If you have a 40 in your boot don't rely on it getting you out of the Censored

I have the NOCO GB150 rated 4000A.

It's able to start mu D4 SDV6 without any effort or fear, it is a fantastic object!!

It' expansive but worth all the money it costs.

I tried to start up my Defender Puma without battery, only with the NOCO connected and gave more starting power than the new AGM 950A battery.

The above bought on the recommendation of dgardel, spins it over like a gud’n.
Not only starts it, but when put on charge afterwards, it still comes up as fully charged.
