Hi folks,
When i go over holes or bumps, i get a noise. the weird thing is that it is like a rattle, eg spare wheel loose, but it is not. it is not just one thud as if it is bottoming out, but will carry on for one or two times more. Had a good look but cannot find the source. Has anyone got any ideas. thanks.

Welcome
Do you have the 3rd row seats up or down ?
There have been a few issues with some rubber pieces on the 3rd row seats when they are folded down .The rubber had fallen out and caused a rattle .
Get someone to sit in the boot area and go for a drive ..see if you can locate the problem that way G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

The first thing to check would be the rear anti roll bar to chassis mounting bushes. Not difficult to change, and not too expensive either
Have a look in the wiki.

I had something similar - turned out one of the harmonic dampers was loose

My noise under extreme bumps was the chassis mass dampner weights thathang behind bumper, unfortunately designed to hang freely and canny fix. But I tend only to get the noise on big bumps

Mac that was what my problem was. Besides needing a gynaecologist to get in there it was a simple fix

Sounds def like the rear ARB bushes - there was a TSB for putting shims in place ( although they are not available at the moment?)
I need to do this aswell.

I had this problem, and I started a thread about it in which I got loads of great help and advice. I eventually tracked it down to the rear anti roll bar bushes though, between the ARB and the chassis. Did the work myself, and it was straightforward-ish. It's been fine ever since.
My thread is here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic24866.html?highlight= D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)
