Northern 500

Doing this at half term (next week) with 3 kids, 2 dogs, 1 wife, 1 father, and 1 dark blue D4 with roof box, and BFGoodrich KO2's . Say hi if you see me (disco4 sticker discretely in lower back window but not really visible unless you're looking for it!).

I did a similar route to the Northern 500 about 10 years ago, me and two mates rode sports bikes to John O'Groats, across the top and down the west coast back to the North East in 4 days for charity Thumbs Up Was walking like John Wayne for a week afterwards but had a fantastic time up there and thought the scenery was stunning.

For those who indulge in a bit of social media, the NC500 has its own Facebook page where visitors and travellers can share their photos and stories of the route.
I live on the top left corner of the route so I'll keep an eye out and if you need any info on fuel stops etc, just give me a shout. 2015 Discovery 4 HSE Corris with Blackpack

mostly staying in hotels/b&b's as taking my 85 year old father with me and camping is somewhat off the books with his mobility issues.....

our planned route is here, with accommodation: roughly, £200/night for the 6 of us, so not cheap but not ridiculous. If we'd not had my Dad with us, we'd have been camping at about £20/night, but he's very excited to be doing it and so worth it.

route/accommodation we've chosen here..... spending a little time in the Highlands too. Will post updates here if I can get wifi, full report in one go later if I can't Very Happy
