Not been away long but back again D4 HSE
Sold my Nara bronze D4 last year and have been disco-less since selling the D3 metropolis trade in last november
But today i have picked up a 2012my D4 HSE in indus silver. Its a bit up on the miles (130k)but was cheap and is in really good condition. Needs some jobs doing
Upto now
Key fobs need reconditioning
brakes need overhauling (sticking handbrake shoes and sh*gged discs) so will replace all(maybe brembo upgrade )
Good clean inside and out

Absolutely. Had the BMW X5 40d since i sold my nara and it was an amazing car. 313bhp,cheap road tax, easy 35 mpg, handled like a sports car and an infotainment system that made the D4 look like a 1980s escort. But it wasn't a discovery

Its not bad for the miles. Had a bit of paint on the back wheel arches but i suppose its to be expected at 130k
Has had a pair of amber strobes fitted to the front and rear too. The fronts have been drilled into the grill and the bolts are rusty but thats an easy fix Previous Discos

Car is now stripped and ready for some shiny new bits. Stripped the rear brakes to find the handbrake shoes completely seized also the rear upper arm bushes are badly worn which is surprising on both accounts as the car has just had an MOT
Anyway its getting new discs and pads all round. Will be having brembo 4 pots on the front. rear callipers/carriers have been removed, sandblasted and painted ready for refit and will also be getting new handbrake shoes and retaining kits. That should sort the brakes out for a while

Unless you need to go off roading it sounds like the perfect car to me!!

Not a major improvement over standard D4 brakes but upgrade from 2 to 4 pistons per calliper and look nice . Plus i have a set in the workshop so its a shame not to use them
Got the parts for the rear brakes today so all rebuilt with new handbrake shoes, springs and new discs plus the newly repainted rear callipers. Also got rid of the scabby tin dust shields

It was a great car, unfortunately with 2 teenagers and a 7 month old baby at home it just wasn't big enough. Do miss that engine though , am considering getting my D4 remapped to make me feel better Previous Discos

Front brakes done today and it now stops as it should . Have also fitted a set of 30mm spacers all round although the brembos did clear my alloys

It does make life a bit easier having a 4000 sq/ft workshop but i still have to fit my own car in between paying work Previous Discos
