tonight is 12 months to the day from when I dropped off the first D4 at W******s J****r in Manchester, so they could read the codes that had popped up when my mate had a look at the car and hopefully fix anything that needed doing before the warranty ran out 10 days later.
anyone who's remembered my whinges over the past twelve months will know that some charming individuals armed - we believe - with a key-programmer cut and peeled back the security fence, smashed my window and a couple of minutes later drove the car away.
Took over 4 months to get a replacement sorted and wasn't exactly a stress-free episode., plus I reckon I must be about £3K out of pocket.
So, not being superstitious or anything but ... tonight the D4 is first in the drive, SWMBOs Antara parked behind, and one of the Punto's behind that.
and i'm still thinking about sleeping in it !

Or sleep in it!
It’s a Land Rover it will only break down if they try to nick it anyway?

when we got back from a pub meal last night - at same place we went on 18th October last year - I parked the car, locked it and went inside.
about 10 mins later ... alarm went off.
no sign of anyone interfering with the car BUT it has got me thinking that IF there is a method of creating the right coded signal to open the car then a test of that would be triggering the alarm ( like holding the panic switch ).
I need to get something to scan the keyfob and try to replicate it ... need to know just what is achievable.
and maybe I should've signed up for the group-buy Disklok.
She's still here😀... As was case at 2am and 5:30 when I was checking..

Feel for you must be hard to relax. Getting a disclock before my D3 don't want to go to trouble of finding the right one then have some scum take it. Especially as mum lives in Norfolk and with the news about more police cut backs. Don't let others spoil your enjoyment

Thought by the title that SWMBO had ditched you on your wedding anniversary!

Surprises me you remembered it was your anniversary - but guess the car issue is the reminder
for clarity ... it ONLY the anniversary of the D4 being nicked. and as that's the night after SWMBOs birthday, I'm reasonably sure I'll remember it for years to come.
and as for wedding anniversary ... next year is our 30th so I'm equally sure I'll be getting reminded for several months in advance that "we ought to do something a bit special".
(mind you, took me 10 years to take the hint that she wanted to go to Venice for her birthday !)
