Not a happy bunny, it's happening again.

Sad to say that this my third D3, and only 1 month and 1500 miles on the clock, and ding-dong red suspension warning/access height/max 30mph.

Things were going oh so well. Managed to limp home, it even seemed more bouncy than D3 ver1 was when it happened to that one. LRA can't come till the morning so I'm stuck in till the morning.Not a happy bunny.

I thought that since this is a Jan 06' build that they had new compressors and software and this wouldn't happen.

What am I doing wrong? Thud Thud

It surely can't be just jetwashing the mud off it??

According to the LRA guy I spoke to about this yesterday (whilst he was changing a tyre on my D2) it could be....He said most of the D3 suspension faults in his experience are resulting from water ingress in the electrical bock connector behind one of the rear wheel arches.....

OK, so why on earth has this not been sorted out in the 15 month since sales started, and how are you supposed to clean out the wheelarches. With a toothbrush.

I was told with Ver1 that it was a water problem with the connector behind the wheelarch liner under the front passenger side. Have they fixed this one and forgotten the ones at the back!

Oh boy.....sounds like it, I was getting the distict impression this was a recent find and LR are working on a fix at present to cure it. If it's been going on for 15 months there is really no excuse, re-engineering a block connector cant be that difficult & they should just do a recall to fit new parts to all of them - and not use any stealthy methods.

We are talking about LR and more especially Ford corp.

It's sad to have to say, but I will definitely not be having anything from the Ford stable when I replace this car.

I just got my D3 back from the dealer after exactly the same problem wiht suspension. According to them it was a broken wire and the common problem with water ingress has been fixed on late '05 build onwards.......I asked questions based on the experiences of many reports in this forum and generally trust what they tell me.........maybe your problem could be the same "broken wire" issue?

I was talking to the guys at the west country landrover experience yesterday about faults and they reckon that they have had no trouble with the suspension and they jet wash the cars off at least once a day.

Rolling Eyes I jet wash my D3 weekly and have not had this issue in 6500 Miles - yet.

Just as an update.
This morning the car is driveable with amber suspension warning, and suspension fault still showing in message centre. Took an age to raise from access height. So my guess is wiring of some sort, whether water ingress or otherwise. It would not 'self heal' to this point otherwise.

Still waiting for LRA to turn up, they said 8am.

As far as LRE are concerned they are nice guys, but they work for LR and unless you know them well they will always say that they don't have any problems, they are there to market the things. If they do have a 'breakdown' they just get in another and someone fixes it.

I can see a trip to the dealer Monday morning, still less than happy that a 30k car designed to be rugged and practical is this highly strung

Nice man driven for 2 hours to plug his laptop in, clear all but one error, which turns out to be the cause of the problem.

Diagnosis is one of the height sensors has failed, car is to be recovered to dealer in the morning, and I've now got the hassle of picking up a rental car from Enterprise.

LRA guy said jet washing under the wheelarches will not cause a problem. Just so people get worried. I must just be unlucky.

yep it sure is a complex beastie - the jet wash reassurance is good. who would have thought 20 years ago a mechanics main tool would be a laptop Rolling Eyes

The only problem is the tool can only diagnose in this sort of situation, not actuallly 'fix' anything.

That is not entirely true, though clearly a laptop is no good at resolving a hardware issue.

Height sensors are prone to problems, and it certainly pays to keep them clean.

Still no comfort when the car is only 4 weeks old and is a replacement for 2 others that have had suspension/wiring/sensor/ECU, problems.

Woman at enterprise said she had done 2 other LRA rentals for a new discovery and a new range rover today. Not good.

And ..No I'm not trying to badmouth the product, it's reliability for me speaks volumes Crying or Very sad
