Not Playing CDs

Got a frustrating issue with my CD player I hope someone can help with please..

I have an 07 SE D3 with the Logic 7 6 CD player set-up, radio and Aux work fine, however when I play any CD it stops playing at the same point on track one only. You can’t move on to other tracks etc.

Bought a CD laser cleaner and tried that but still no joy, does anyone have any ideas?

TIA Chris

something to do with the motor/arm which moves the head from the inside of the disc to the outside.

The chrome bits may just require a bit of grease?

Watching with interest! I get the same symptom though usually stops playing after approx 40 seconds with an ‘invalid disc’ message.
 Best Regards,
Dave.

Could always try a hard reset. Anything that played up with my head unit was always resolved with a hard reset. However to be honest yours does sound more mechanical but worth a try. Only takes 5 mins

The odd thing is this issue comes just after hard wiring a dash cam and enabling the rear camera. Feels like something I’ve done has upset the CD player. I hate it when things don’t work as they should. Grrr!

I do indeed, with the one Johnny Cash 8 track playing on an endless loop. Big Cry Big Cry

That’s me back to therapy tomorrow. Thumbs Up

Reading up on this issue with CD players in general, the cause is either a dirty lens or the track the laser moves on needing lubrication. To attempt a fix I’d need to open the unit up. Anyone tried this? I’ve never looked inside a multi-disc player?

I've not been able to cure this issues so have bought a second hand replacement. Is it a straight swap or is an configuration required when changing the 6 disc unit, please?

Once I have a spare unit I will feel a bit braver about opening up the faulty one with a view to fixing it, I had a quick look under the top cover yesterday but it looks tricky to get anywhere near the laser.

Should be a straight swap, certainly that was the conclusion when I sold the head unit out of my D3. Thumbs Up

Thanks DSL.
I'm getting well practised at removing and refitting the head unit now!
