I'm staying calm
Agreed with all.... I had thought while I was watching News24 on the sat Nav screen and got bored and changed channels and then continued my conversation with the sales director on the mobile while I was drinking my Costa coffee, eating my KFC popcorn chicken while overtaking a micra overtaking a 30 tonne polish lorry who couldn't see me or the micra.... (sorry went in to Jermery Vine mode!!!)
How scary is all this!!!!! The anti 4*4 are worried about our viewing restrictions (due to the extended A pillar) and whether we can see the asbo's or the beach looters..
DOn't get me started about the beach thing... talk about media !!!Richard......

The French have a reasonable system - the speed limit is 130kmh / 80mph in the dry, 110kmh / 68mph in the wet.
On the motorway, if I can, I tend to drive in and around the 75-80mph mark - cruise control just makes it easy.Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I'm calm now!!!
Steve, It was interesting watching people in the average 40mph yesterday and today, once I entered the 'zone' I set the cruise control for 38/39 and watched as people overtook me, and then hid behind me as we got close to the camera, (and I'm not just talking cars!)
I have a friend who is a prosecuter for the CPS in hertfordshire and the M1 roadworks speed cameras are just amazing.... she's overworked!
Don't get me wrong there are many speed restrictions that I just don't agree with!!!, but the new technology is causing havoc in lots of ways (i mean all the tech that is allowing the non motorway savy drivers to go beyond tescos car parks and also the motorway speed restrictions!!)
Gonaa stick my neck out and say re-test every 3 years!!!!Richard......

Cruise is just brilliant for those 40 & 50mph SPECS camera - I tend to set mine bang on 40 - you usually make gentle progress - people without cruise go all over the place speedwiseSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

back on topic, I've a good mate in the traffic division in ayrshire, he tells me that every so often, (in scotland anyway) the unmarked cars get swapped around for 'evaluation' purposes but really as plod is quite aware they get spotted and remembered by the 'serial' speeders
He tells me He caught the same scooby impreza 3 times in 5 months with 3 different unmarked cars !!, the third time in an unmarked impreza which the dope had waved to!!!2007 HSE Java Black.....sold
