Odometer error
Hi all. Heeellllpp!! Having trouble with my odometer .Instead of showing the mileage it says “error”
I have taken it to an auto electrical guy. He said I think new cluster needed but not sure.🤔
If anyone could tell me of any reason for this happening or maybe an answer to fix it I’d relax a bit and enjoy the old girl.

You need to get the fault codes read.
post 2007 vehicles suffer from dry solder joints on the dash circuit board due to the use of lead free solder but pre 2007 circuit boards are ok but they can still suffer failuresAndrew

Odometer error
I had a breakdown service at home last month for an unrelated problem and they gave me these codes.
Not sure if any of these would be the problem. Any advice would be great thanks.

Just to answer Evads question. The Error you get in the ipac usualy comes from a faulty Chip inside the cluster. The ofendig chip is labeled 35080Vp. This chip Stores the Vin, Security and Miles.
When you get ERROR in the display its usualy that the ipac could not read the info from the chip.
I have a My08 d3 cluster here on the table that I have removed this chip and had a play with it to try and learn its contents, and I soldered it back in the cluster, but I was not able to connect 1 of the pins of the chip to the pcb. then i got ERROR in the ipac.. just as you. It might be a cracked solder joint or something.
I ordered a CH341a programer from fleabay and was able to read it
