Is JF Lux an alias for Peter Sutcliffe by any chance?

And we wonder why Clarkson keeps making comments about Land Rover owners

Because the built-in pressure gauge on most air compressors (to a small degree even the more expensive ones) are tiny and generally Censored .

I've got a digital manometro that seems to be very good - I've compared the values of it to the gauge at a decent tyre shop and it was spot on - there was/is (depending on luck) up to 8 psi difference between the digital one and the compressor one on my compressor so I don't trust it.

Also, I always leave it in the glovebox so I just added it to the list Laughing

Ah, and there was me seeing a board with lots of glass tubing and a jar of mercury! If you'd just said "a decent tyre pressure gauge"...

OK...

- A decent digital tyre pressure guage Thumbs Up

and I also forgot something that I carry everywhere and is great for cutting down small branches (and for cutting bread and cheese) and stuff:

There's a "sticky" at the top of the Australian and NZ section which talks about this, described as "outback touring" instead of "offroad". It pretty much has the makings of a complete list. Then again, we have (amongst other things) the Canning Stock Route that is 2014km of continuous offroad Very Happy . That doesn't count the extra up-and-down on the washboards/corrogations. I'm planning to traverse it next year, and suspect the required gear weighs about 600kg.
