Maybe I've had my head in a hole but I had not heard of this 'Second Life' until just last week when I read an article about it in the Guardian saying that it's a big, million pound cyberworld. Before I discovered this forum I led a sad and meaningless life. I drank beer to excess, valeted my car at the weekends and drove my Discovery all over the countryside, upsetting those nice people from Greenpeace and other assorted treehuggers.

Strange really - sometimes lots a day, then may be I will go a week or 2 before the D3 urge calls me back. Great site and loads of friends made as a result.

I used to be a busy exec with a successful communications business........Then I found disco3.co.uk.......
It all started gradually, and I became sucked-in with the security of knowledge that there were others out there who posted lots more than me. That's how they draw you in you know........ There's always a TFC or DG who are obviously 'holics to make you feel better about yourself.
Then one day you realise,...... You are already in the top 20 posters, your business has suffered, you spend more on profitless Mantec plates than you do on corporation tax! Everything has gone to the dogs and you start wearing 'ForumWear'.
Once you have been seen in public with a disco3.co.uk fleece you think you have 'come-out', but in fact you have only stooped to deeper levels of abuse - only now you are proud of it.
People begin to shun you - initially because they think you are advertising yourself some sort of ageing DJ, however, once it is explained that it's about Land Rovers, they give you that knowing look and shun you even more.......
You start to dream about meeting others who are afflicted in muddy fields with tents and dogs, and the highlight of your year is traversing a rocky pass in a group in the Lakes........
I don't know how deep the rabbit warren goes, but I'm still gald I didn't pick the blue pill..... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

It's an illness of the wallet. When I got my D3 it was the best car in the world, but the siren call from this site suggested otherwise.
First came the Mantec plate, then the offroad tyres, then a gearbox guard and diff guard. I thought this would satisfy my desires but no, for next came an expo rack, a ladder and a snorkel. Now I find myself buying exotic waxes to keep it all clean despite using it offroad all the time.
It's OCD by proxy.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I used to be a student so had lots of time then to surf t'internet, now I'm free of that I still have lots of time to surf t'internet. Rumour has it you are meant to work after studenthood but at mid 40s I like to contemplate early retirement and many hours on "that b y website", the site's name according to Mrs DSL!!!
