Hi Dunc,
Can't see how a sensor could cause the vibration. Have you checked the wheel bearings - that could upset the wheel speed sensor enough to throw a DSC error message.
Just a thought. At least with used prices on the up it'll still be worth more than the repair - especially in a proper Land Rover colour

ive had a front left wheel bearing changed and the two rear hubs have been off to replace the diff/halfshaft oil seal. Any of these could have disturbed a sensor - especially if it was on its way out anyway. But the wheel bearing was changed up in Scotland and ive driven home etc since without the errors coming up
Interestingly though the error messages dont occur if i am just pottering around. drove around yesterday at no more than 40mph and went down some rutted off road lanes and all was fine. it wasnt until i got back on the motorway that the error messages started.. So could be wheel speed related rather than suspension..
Ive also got a LOUD clunking noise from the rear suspension, but only when off road - could the rear stabiliser bushes.
Oh and I think I need to respray the LHS of the car. Again... Duncan

update :
the dealer has had the car in today and looking at the front LHS wheel (the one that I had the bearing changed two weeks ago) - it looks like the muppet that fitted it (Munros of Oban) had reftitted the caliper and twisted it 360 degrees resulting in all the cable and brake pipes getting twisted. as the wheel speed pickup is in the caliper this could be causing the dodgy messages. Dealer is going to fit it properly and then retest. some of the error messages coming up they havnt seen before
This is going to cost me a fortune Duncan

Dunc,
Assuming this is out of warranty - hence the cost to you. Shouldn't Munros of Oban be paying for it? It would certainly be worth a phone call. If you don't get the result you need then maybe your dealer can contact land rover on your behalf and see if they can stick some pressure on Munros to pay. Failing that how did you pay for it? i paid for it by debit card. fitting was only £60...

Looks like it could be a steering wheel sensor. apparently they are on back order , but they've managed to locate one in cardiff so have sent a man-in-a-van to collect. should get car back tomorrow - hope that fixes it..
I'm dreading the bill Duncan

all sorted (allegedly). I'll find out tomorrow when I get back home and road test the D3
it was a Steering Wheel Angle Sensor - and No, LR extended warranty wouldnt pay up. I dont know why i bought the LR Select warranty. ive had a few problems ie, wheel bearing, rear diff halfshaft oil seals and now this, and LR extended warranty wont pay for anything - what a waste of money.
I also have to let Munros of Oban off the hook a bit, but the twisted cable "could have contributed to the problem" Duncan
