Oh Dear what can the matter be ..... ?

Ive had the following problem now twice in the space of 40 miles.

Bong
HDC Failure message
Terrain response Off message
Suspension Lowering Message

the HDC, TR and Suspension do actually fail so its not just a dodgy message

also get 3 orange lights on dash

1) DSC warning light
2) suspension light
3) and something else I cant remember

before I go into the dealers and then find its not covered under LR select warranty and have to stomp up loadsa cash - does anyone have any pointers.
It could be a whole load of things some i'm trying to get get some specific guidance Wink

Thanks
Cheers
 Duncan

More specifically, the stop lamp bulbs. How these failing can cause all this to occur (as well as trying to cause the unfortunate owner heart failure) I'll never know, but apparently it can on a D3 ...

See my post 'dreaded bong' just experienced same thing. Will be a sensor failure somewhere, either rear bulbs or switch failure etc.

DD, it could be N/S Rear Hub Sensor, and or N/S Rear Hub Receiver. Mine did this after Salisbury, got the same warnings combined with No Speedo or rev counter.

Hope you get it sorted soon Thumbs Up

Gazza had same symptoms yesterday, he said it was diagnosed as a faulty brake light switch.

I've had the same thing - it was the brake light switch as Gareth mentions.

Not the Bulbs - that was the first thing I checked..

The garage had everything to bits on Thursday to replace the dif/halfshaft seals so wondering if the they dislodged something or if its just a coincidence.

Is there any way to check the brake switch ??, where is it..

the third light that comes on is the Brake warning light situated under the temp guage.

Rear Hub Sensor, and or N/S Rear Hub Receiver
Thanks, anyone got a photo of where they are. Are they easy to replace ?? Duncan

Dunc Thumbs Up

The Brake switch is normally on the brake pedal , looking under the dash towards the top Thumbs Up

Some are adustable so removing it and cleaning the plunger / contacts may help Wink

Did you remove the bulbs from the rear, as it can still cause a problem even if they appear to still work. Mine has this not long ago, also wouldn't change gear properly, do you get this as well.

The fault code logged was brake light switch, but it was a bulb with the filaments touching. I did look for the brake switch at the time but couldn't see it easily.

I have been having lots of brake light bulbs fail a couple of months ago but since I put the Bosch ones in 4 weeks ago they have been fine. the erros message have only been occuring since Friday and are happenign very frequently now.

I removed the bulbs and checked them , the refitted. Obviosuly I havnt driven the car without the bulbs in place..

Ive just had the wheels off but nothing looks out of place. I have no idea what the codes are. Of course if BBS had agreed to sell me a "box" at the discount price I would be able to tell. Looks like I'll have to use the money I was going to pay BBS to pay the dealer now to diagnose and fix the problem Rolling Eyes So we all loose out (Except the Dealer....)

I'd swap the bulbs anyway just in case, mine had the filaments only just touching and it was hard to spot. The clamp for the brake light filament had opened slightly and was just touching the rear light filament. Both the brake and side lights were still working, but it was only the heat from the bulb which caused them to touch, so it only happened while driving and got worse just like yours.

Bulbs changed ..... and still the same problem.

PaganUK suggest a wheel speed sensor - cos he had exactly the same set of messages when he had a puncture.

anyone have a photo of where these are situation, are they easy to replace, and roughly how much they cost..

( and yes, before anyone says..., I do know who TLO is but just want an intial view Whistle )

Ive also been getting these bad vibrations...... http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic38422.h...vibrations

I get the same vibrations when I apply the footbrake. the possibilities are endless so some input from someone who has experienced exactly the same symptoms would be appreciated.

I suppose I could change all the Calipers, disks, pads, EPB shoes, suspension sensos and wheel speed sensors but that will cost me more than the cars worth Big Cry

Many Thanks
 Duncan
