I'm guessing you have the V8 engine to power the oversize tyres?
Are you going to change diff ratios as I estimate an approx 10% difference compared to standard tyres?

Re-gear... nope. (keep it a secret, but my LR is still under warranty )....
And yes, I have a V8. But what I really feel is the HUGE difference in braking! I keep a lot more distance from other cars and drive much slower than usual (I have a lead foot).
I do have 2 sets of wheels. I will only use these for weekend fun.
The original set has stock sizes....-------------------

There is a wiring loom too close for comfort to the new tires.... Has anyone relocated this?

Hey mate,
If that is the loom running down the left side front, that we mentioned earlier in the thread, I'd suggest getting a pro look at it before cutting into it to relocate it. Not sure what happenes if you cut through that data bus thing. I had a quick look at mine a while back to see if there was anywhere close to unclip it and have an extension made up, but came up blank. I think you'd be better off making up a little guard to protect it from tire scuff.

I really would not want to go through the trouble of cuting/extending.
I will go the route of making a guard.... Specially since the rubbing is only during full-lock-turn and full compression.
It's just one more thing that delays the project.... -------------------

The loom is easily relocated higher up on the frame rail. Use a cable wire hold down clip and a self-drilling panhead screw. 2 minutes. I've also seen zip-ties used.2006 D3 Tonga Green

I'm not interested in replicating your mod (though it does look exremely purposeful 8) ), but I'm intrigued by the comment.... do you mean there is far less braking effect for the same pedal pressure, or that they are prone to lock-up on-road?

Moved the loom enough to be ok.... (love zip-ties)....

The centrifugal force of this setup takes a lot of breaking to dissipate, thus less energy goes to slowing down the car. The wheel/tire setup weighs at least 2x stock (and the diameter is around 10% more). It feels as if you were trying to stop with a heavy trailer in the back....-------------------

@LRorWalk. It's a normal expo rack but with the sides and front fairing cut off. Great for a roof tent

The rack is the OEM LR rack. I just took the upper part off. Pretty easy, it's all held with rivets.
